Jennings v. KN Energy
Favorable Verdict Followed By Confidential Settlement
A
worker was loading condensate into a truck as part of his
job with Petroleum Gas Products, Inc., a company owned
and operated by KN Energy. When a release of the condensate
occurred, a fire resulted, severely burning the worker
who later died from the injuries he sustained. David Perry
and René Haas were retained by the victim's family
to present the case against KN Energy.
During the trial, evidence showed that major safety
breaches had occurred that violated regulations of
both the National Fire Prevention Association Flammable
and Combustible Liquids Code Handbook and OSHA's Process
Management Hazard Program. The parties in the suit
reached a confidential settlement before the jury verdict
was announced in open court. The jury found in favor
of the family.
